Hello my name is John Carter, liccensed fire escape inspector. I have looked at numerous fire escapes throughout the state of Massachusetts. It is Massachusetts State Law that every 5 years, your fire escape needs to be inspected and recertified and an affidavit filed with the building departement. People overlook or are not awarded of this law. Don’t be lax on this law in the event something should occur on your fire escape and it is not up to code insurance companies cancel policies from past experience with customers. As a representable inspector, I will help you with the process. First we will inspect your fire escape for a flat fee of 200.00. We hope that they all pass! Upon inspection of the fire escape and all components pass, we will begin the affidavit filing process submit it with the proper building inspector to be notarized.
The building owner must pay the filing fees for the fire escape affidavit. We will give you a fair price to repair the issues so your fire escape will pass inspection. We will deduct the inspection fee from the estimate to get your fire escape up to code.
